Ways to Give
-
You can make purchases from the YES Amazon Wish List to directly provide us with our most-needed items, whether it’s for our hygiene cabinet, pantry, clothing boutique, or programmatic needs.
-
In-kind or non-monetary donations are valuable resources for our youth. In keeping with our mission of treating all clients with respect and dignity, we ask that all clothing donations be in good condition.
Hosting a donation drive at your office or organization, school, place of worship or other community group settings is a great way to involve your employees or neighborhood in a meaningful cause, build team spirit and demonstrate your organization's commitment to the community.
YES Development staff can provide an information kit to get you started with your drive. If you have questions, please email Development@YouthEmergingStronger.Org. If your intended donation does not fit any of the criteria below, please contact us to inquire as to whether we can accept your item. Donated items should be dropped off at our offices, as we do not have a pick-up service.
-
Gather your friends, neighbors and colleagues together and turn any special occasion into a benefit for the homeless and foster youth of YES. You might host a spa day and ask guests to bring make-up and grooming supplies for our youth. Or a crafting party, where guests donate art supplies. Or simply request that birthday party guests donate to YES in lieu of gifts.
-
Securities offer considerable tax advantages when transferred to YES before they are sold. If you have held your securities for more than one year, you may find that your gift will provide a twofold tax benefit, creating an income-tax deduction as well as helping avoid the capital-gains tax that would have been due on their sale.
-
Personal residences, second homes, income property and vacant land offer a wide variety of tax and other benefits. Whereas most people give their entire interest away, it is also possible to give only a portion of the property (an undivided percentage interest) while retaining the rest for other purposes.
-
Planned or deferred giving — in the form of bequests, life-income plans and other options for your estate — can be an effective method of increasing your income, earning valuable income-tax deductions and reducing your estate taxes, all while supporting YES.
-
Corporate giving presents a unique opportunity for companies of any size to help make an impact in their community. It is a great way to incentivize employees with opportunities to get involved and build lasting partnerships between individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations. For more information about opportunities to sponsor events, grants, programs and other areas in need of support, please contact Development@YouthEmergingStronger.org.
